Hypocotyl

Turn farm data into market-ready CI insight.

Hypocotyl connects on-farm practices to credible, transparent carbon intensity scores — so producers can prove impact and buyers can source with confidence.

The Platform

Hypocotyl: CI infrastructure for agricultural supply chains.

We measure, explain, and report carbon intensity with scientific rigor and clear boundaries — so every stakeholder can trust the result.

CI Scoring Engine

Farm-specific carbon intensity calculated using a transparent, documented methodology. Every output is bounded, traceable, and auditable.

Farm Data Infrastructure

Structured data collection that meets producers where they work. Integrations with existing farm management tools where available.

Disclosure Readiness

Methodology aligned with recognized LCA frameworks. Outputs include boundary statements and confidence ranges — not just a number.

Buyer-Ready Reporting

Auditable CI reports formatted for procurement, Scope 3 disclosures, and low-carbon program participation.

Who It Serves

Built for the entire agricultural supply chain.

Hypocotyl creates value for producers, buyers, food companies, and lenders — because trusted data only works when the whole chain can rely on it.

Farmers & Producers

Understand your carbon intensity, prove your practices, and access differentiated markets — without adding operational burden.

  • Farm-level CI score with full data lineage
  • Benchmark against regional and national averages
  • Access premium programs and buyer networks
  • Data stays yours. Privacy by design.

Grain Buyers & Processors

Source auditable lower-CI supply. Support Scope 3 disclosures. Build procurement confidence with auditable data you can stand behind.

  • Auditable, field-level CI data
  • Procurement-ready reports
  • Scope 3 / sustainability reporting support
  • Scalable across supply chains

Food Companies & Partners

Connect downstream commitments to upstream data. Demonstrate credible supply chain accountability to customers, investors, and regulators.

  • Traceable ingredient-level CI data
  • Program participation and claim support
  • Integration with sustainability frameworks
  • Methodology governance and evolution

Agricultural Lenders

Understand the climate risk profile of your agricultural portfolio. Meet financed emissions obligations and offer differentiated products to lower-carbon producers.

  • Field-level CI data across your loan book
  • Financed emissions (Scope 3 Cat 15) support
  • Green financing product enablement
  • Auditable, methodology-governed outputs

Methodology

Built on recognized scientific frameworks.

Our carbon intensity methodology draws from established LCA principles and agricultural emissions accounting standards. Boundaries are defined, assumptions are documented, and outputs include explicit uncertainty ranges.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) aligned approach

Cradle-to-farmgate boundary definition

Field-level data inputs, not regional defaults where avoidable

Confidence ranges and data completeness reporting

Methodology governance and transparent versioning

Boundary Statement

Cradle-to-farmgate. Included emission sources: fuel combustion, fertilizer manufacture and application (including N₂O), seed production, on-farm energy use, and field-level carbon stock changes where data supports estimation.

Excluded: downstream transport, processing, and packaging. Exclusions are explicitly noted in all outputs.

Methodology details are subject to change as scientific standards and program requirements evolve. All output documents carry a version reference.
